Unseen Beauty - Urie Remembers First Vacation
By:  Tammy Vreeland

Urie has never been outside the forest. Ani takes Urie on vacation so that Urie can seeunseen beauty,
all over the world.
Background

Unseen Beauty - Urie Remembers First Vacation is my second children's book.  It all came about with my husband, Paul, wearing a Unicorn costume to promote my first children's book "Unseen Beauty".

We started making short, cute videos and it became quite popular.  We had planned a trip to Europe and decided to take the costume along with us, just in case there may be any opportunities for us to get some video.  We did 5 countries in 10 days and were very fortunate to be able to get footage from all 5 countries!

We had so much fun doing it and had such good video clips, on the plane trip home I started thinking about writing a story about the funny Unicorn.

I named the Unicorn "Urie" along the same premise as "Ani" from Unseen Beauty.  Like Ani (synonym is "any1") I wanted a similar synonym and I thought maybe Urie could be close enough for "every1".

Again, throughout the book I do not use "he or she" so it is a gender-less book.  Allowing the child to be able to identify with the main character.

It was a fun book to write and really just a book to compliment Unseen Beauty.  But who knows?  Urie just might make another appearance in another book, some day.

I hope you enjoy it.
