Pictures of the Faire
The first weekend it poured on both days and was only 48 degrees.
The second weekend was quite the opposite, 96 one day and 98 the next.

The Quest

After reading Unseen Beauty, I gave the children a quest. I told them I had hidden magical fairy doors somewhere in the Fair. I then asked them if they had ever heard of the ugly duckling story? I asked them what did the ugly duckling turn into? A beautiful swan. I then told them the fairy doors was hidden in Swan Field (not until much later I found it was actually called Swain Field - so upon knowing this I told them to ignore the "i" - lol) Anyway, once they found the fairy doors they had to open them. Once they were opened, it would reveal who is the most Unique Unseen Beauty In All Of The Land! Once they found out who it was, they were to come back to me and tell me who it is. When they did, I would give them something that they would have to teach a Unicorn to fly. It was a HUGE success!!! The kids would come running back through the field screaming, "I know! I know!" Then breathless they would tell me, "It's me!" My husband and I got such a kick at seeing them so excited over their little quest.

A reading at the Goddard School... Children Enjoy a Magical Read-Aloud from Guest Reader, Tammy Vreeland September  13, 2019 / As the author of Unseen Beauty, Tammy was dressed as a fairy queen, where she sat in between two fairies and in front of a forest backdrop, bringing the book to life for the children to see and hear. Children at the Goddard School located in Toms River, Route 70, enjoyed a theatrical read-aloud by a special guest reader, Tammy Vreeland. As the author of Unseen Beauty, Tammy was dressed as a fairy queen, where she sat in between two fairies and in front of a forest backdrop, bringing the book to life for the children to see and hear. Her story featured unicorns which were used as symbolism for children to understand that it is good to be different and unique. They ended the read-aloud by crowning each child to emphasize that each person is special in their own way.

Gino D at the boardwalk in Asbury Park promoting me for my reading at the Lakewood Renaissance Fair.

The Lakewood Renaissance Fair is happening this weekend at Pine Park with a variety of events.  On Saturday, the fair opens at 10am with a musical performance on the main stage.  The day is filled with activities which include jousting, a costume contest, Medieval dancers and story time with “Queen Tammy,” New Jersey author, Tammy Vreeland.  Participate in a special reading with Tammy on Saturday at 11:30am and Sunday at 10:30am on the main stage as she presents her latest children’s book collection, Unseen Beauty, which tells the adventurous story of Urie the Unicorn.  You’ll have the chance to explore the marketplace, interact with hundreds of costumed characters, practice your archery skills and feast on foods from the Renaissance period.  Wizards, jugglers, stilt walkers, poets and magicians add to the fun.  Click Renaissance Faire for the schedule of events and have fun time-traveling this weekend
